Bulacan State University - After several years, CoEd Flames (College of Education) brought the fire on the dance floor and burned themselves with awards as they were hailed champions in the Dance Sport Competition on August 27 at BulSU's Activity Center.

Completing the group with five representatives was hard for Kenneth Taguinod, the group leader od the Hip Hop category.

After having the complete set of five, the group find it hard to have time for rehearsals due to schedule conflicts. They only practiced for two hours a day within two weeks.

As the group leader, Kenneth decided to color their hair with Yellow flames to be unique during the competition. They also had a hard time convincing the mother of Coleen, one of the members, to join them in the competition.

Despite of these problems, Flames did not let the fire down. Because of the support of their college together with their coach Rowell Castro and with their dedication to win, they put up the fire on the dance floor and won.

“Mixed emotions. Shocked. Happiness. Masayang Masaya! Hindi nga kami makapaniwala no'ng una. Hindi namin in-e-expect,” Arraine said.

Aside from Kenneth Taguinod, Arraine Shantal Cruz, Mark Anthony Narciso, Carlo dela Pena, and Coleen Alexis Tolentino who won the Hip Hop category, CoEd students Mary Joy Macapagal and John Christopher dela Cruz won the Latin category, and Mark Anthony de Guzman together with Elirah Ching won the Standard category.
