Bulacan State University’s Intramurals 2012 ended triumphantly and blissfully, with the College of Physical Education, Recreation and Sports (COPERS) topping the overall medal tally.

After a week of sports and talent competition, August 27-31, the throne is now in the ownership of CoPERS, retrieving it from the preceding champion, the College of Industrial Technology (CIT).

The winners in different games were awarded at the university’s activity center in the afternoon of August 31. Colleges who stand-out in showing their hidden athletic skills in different sports and recreational games received their awards.

The CoPERS Stallions dominated the medals chart, acquiring a total of 130 medals, 79 of which are golds, 33 silvers and 18 bronzes; followed by the previous title holder, CIT Stingers, with a total of 109 medals (40 golds, 32 silvers, 37 bronzes); and 83 medals (32 golds, 23 silvers, 28 bronzes) for the College of Education (CoEd) Flames, hanging in the third place.

In the 4th place comes the Sarmiento Campus Tigers, accumulating 66 medals (20 golds, 31 silvers, 15 bronzes), while in the 5th spot landed the College of Engineering (COE) Red Ants, with 58 medal awards (20 golds, 17 silvers, 21 bronzes).

From 6th to 17th places come the College of Business Administration (39; with 16 golds), College of Criminal Justice and Education (31; with seven golds), Bustos Campus (28; with four golds), Meneses Campus (36; with two golds), College of Social Science and Philosophy (six; with two golds), College of Information and Communications Technology (38; with one gold), College of Home Economics (17; with one gold), College of Science (19; no gold), College of Architecture and Fine Arts (14; no gold), Hagonoy Campus (nine; no gold), College of Nursing (one; no gold), and College of Arts and Letters (no medal), respectively.

John Danielle Pioquinto, a second year Physical Education student shared his sentiment with regards to his college’s recuperation of the throne, “Syempre masaya. Hindi ko rin naman ini-expect na kami ang mag-o-overall champion ngayon. Malakig tulong din ‘yongg pagkapanalo naming ngayong intrams para mas makilala ang college namin.”
