BULACAN STATE UNIVERSITY - A new football champ reigns.

The College of Business Administration CBA Magnates captured the crown, a new team which entered the champions list of BulSu 2012 Intramurals.

The football tournament finals happened at the Bulacan Sports Complex on August 30.

The Magnates, defeated last year’s ranking team College of Engineering (CoE) Red Ants through a penalty kick shoot-out scored 4-2 in the semis.

The Magnates conquered the 2011’s top team, the College of Industrial Technology (CIT) through a free kick shot scored 2-1 which came fom the kick goals of Alvin Godoy and Jovi Jamero.

The CBA and CIT already made a kick-off in game 7, day two of the eliminations, and resulted a draw.

The CBA Magnates only joined the tournament last year, that is why winning the crown was really unexpected.

“Mga bago lang kasi kami, kaya hindi rin naming to inaasahan”, the Magnates coach Jessie Gin Capino said.

The new champ scored 10 goals with one draw without losing any game in the whole three-day competition. Three came from the third game of day one, beating the same but fresh rookie team, the College of Social Science and Philosophy (CSSP) Rajas with the score of 3-0. One came from crushing the College of Information and Communications Technol ogy (CICT) Firefox in the game 12 of day two eliminations. Four goals were from the semis and two came from the finals.

“Magkakasundo kasi kaming lahat. Kaya kung matalo man, walang arte-arte at walang sisihan”, CBA coach and member of CLFL 2012 Champion Futbulakenyos Jessie Gin commented about the team’s advantage of winning the crown.

The members of CBA Magnets are Juanito Aquino, Lourd Virgil Manalo, Darwyn Simoun, Eric Quiambao, Rafael Estrada, Moris Marquez, Alvin Godoy, Lorenz Domingo, Jon Jovi Jamoro, Jerome Cunanan, Valerio Carlos and Rosel de Guzman.
