The College of Information and Communications Technology (CICT) Firefox and Sarmiento Campus Stars both stepped up in the championship round of the Women’s Volleyball after winning their separate semi-final games against College of Education (CoEd) Torch and College of Engineering (CoE) Red Ants, respectively.
Sarmiento Campus punctuated its dominance with straight-set disposal of CICT, 25-19, 33-31 and 25-19, to grab the first place in 2012 Bulacan State University (BSU) Intramurals Women’s Volleyball at BSU activity center, August 31.
Sarmiento did not get terrified with their toughest rival, CICT. Instead, the aggressiveness of their opponents and insult of the other team’s supporters made them become more focused and determined to win the championship fight.
The game got more intense in the second set as CICT tried to catch up after losing the first, but still, Sarmiento remained steady and firm up to the third round.
Intense trainings, teamwork and hardship are the reason for having a flawless victory, 6-0, making them the champion of this year’s volleyball competition in the women's division.
“Nagpapasalamat ako sa mga players dahil pumapayag sila na araw-araw silang mag-training. Uma-absent nga sila minsan sa mga klase nila”, Sarmiento Campus Volleyball women coach, Lauriano Ewan said.
“Teamwork tapos nag-eensayo kami para ma-achieve ‘yong goal”, Sarmiento spiker Roxanne Arellano added.
